Camembert, Nuts & Honey Recipe

Hi you all!

Last week I shared How To Make The Perfect Cheese Platter. I promised the recipe for the Camembert, nuts and honey, so here goes...

What you'll need:

1 Camembert
1/2 cup Mixed Nuts (or your favorite..)
Some Honey

Cut the Camembert-wheel in half.

Add half of the nuts to the one side of the Camembert. Drizzle some honey over the nuts.

Put the other half of the Camembert on top of the nuts, add the rest of the nuts and drizzle with some honey  :-).

And that's all. Super easy, but soo yummy!!!

How To Make The Perfect Cheese Platter

Hi there!!

Today I'll share my way of assembling the perfect cheese platter. I serve this (or a variation) A LOT. I like the way that every one can choose what they'll be having. I serve this as a snack or even after dinner as a dessert. Yum!

What you'll need:

2 Cheeses (One softer cheese and one hard cheese; eg. Blue Cheese & Camembert )
Nuts
Figs in Preserve
Crackers (I had Caramelized Onion Crackers)

I used a mild Blue cheese and made my CAMEMBERT, NUTS AND HONEY recipe (check back next week for the recipes!!).

A basic cheese platter should include the following:

1. 2+ Cheeses (More than two if you are more people)
2. Something sweet (Fresh fruit, preserved fruit, I even use jams)
3. Something crunchy (Nuts)
4. Something to eat the cheese with (Crackers or Bread)

Try experimenting with the arrangement of the cheese platter. Use small bowls, rustic trays, cheese knives or why not make chalkboard tags for each cheese/condiment?

Please share what YOU include in a cheese platter...

Three Ingredient Scone Recipe

Hello everyone!

Today I have a super easy recipe to share...

I whipped this up one Sunday morning for breakfast-in-bed. I took less than 30 minutes and the result was fabulous!

What you'll need:

3.5 cups Self Raising Flour
1 can Sprite (not diet!!)
1 cup fresh cream
1/2 tsp Salt

Oven: 200˚ C (400˚ F)

Mix cream with self raising flour. Slowly mix Sprite with flour-mixture. Don't stir to much.

Form the dough into balls with your hands and place on a baking sheet. Paint the balls with egg-mixture and bake in hot oven for 15-20 minutes till golden brown.

3 Ingredient Scones l Couches and Cupcakes

And that's all! Oh how I love an easy recipe :-)

I served the scones with hard boiled eggs and preserves. Perfect for a Lazy Sunday morning or tea time! <3

Let me know if you try this!

Easy Butternut, Beetroot and Feta Salad

Hi there!

Today I'll share one of my go-to salads. It's yummy, it's easy and always a crowd pleaser!

What you need?
  • 1 packet baby spinach
  • 500g chopped butternut
  • 500g baby beetroot (I just bought the babies 'cause it's cute!)
  • 2 wheels Feta
  • Olive oil
  • Brown sugar
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Balsamic drizzle
Put the beetroot and the butternut on a baking tray and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper and add a little thyme to the butternut. Mix some brown sugar with balsamic drizzle and pour over beetroot. Pop the beetroot and butternut into a 180˚C (350˚F) oven for 45 minutes. When the veggies feel soft, take it out of the oven and let it cool.

Place the cool veggies on a bed of baby spinach, crumb the feta, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and voila!

You can even substitute the feta with blue cheese or add a few pumpkin seeds. Yum!

Enjoy!
